How I Approach Social Media

Social media has changed a lot since its inception.

For brands, I see organic social media as a place not just to sell but to build a community of raving fans. Increasingly, people follow their favorite brands not only to see the latest happenings, but to be entertained. 

I take a platform approach to social media. This recognizes that each platform has its own strengths and weaknesses, therefore each platform should have its own strategy, voice and content (but still feel unified with central messages). 

I pride myself on staying on top of platform and algorithm changes -- because they're always changing. What worked last month may not be the best choice for the next month. 

Social media has had its share of critics (and often for good reason), but I believe in its power to connect people to what they love. While it can tear down, it can also build up. It can be a frustrating place, but it can also be a place to find joy.
